TJC/UT Tyler Promise Scholarship Application

The TJC/UT Tyler Promise Scholarship was established in 2023 to help TJC graduates who have excelled in one of the College’s community-based “Promise” programs to further their higher education by attending the University of Texas at Tyler. Students selected to benefit from this award will receive four semesters at UTT. Each year, ten graduating TJC students will be selected to receive $8,000 over two years to be used towards the cost of attendance at UT Tyler.

Selection criteria:

• Scholarship recipients must be graduating TJC students who have participated in and have successfully completed the Rusk TJC Citizens Promise or TJC Promise programs.

• Have been accepted as a transfer student to UTT immediately following graduation from TJC.

• Priority consideration will be given to transfer students who will not benefit from scholarships as a part of the UTT Patriot Promise program.

• Recipients must be enrolled full-time at UTT and seek a Bachelor’s degree.

• Recipients must maintain good academic standing as per the standards of UTT.

Scholarships will traditionally be disbursed by the UT Tyler Foundation in four installments for two academic years: One-quarter [$2,000] awarded during the fall semester and one-quarter [$2,000] awarded during the spring semester.

This application must be submitted before April 1. If selected you will be notified via email by Friday, April 5th.

Recipients will be recognized during our Annual Awards of Excellence Luncheon on Thursday, April 24th at 11:15 am in the LaVerne and Michael Gollob Room in the Rogers Nursing and Health Science Center. We recommend going ahead and blocking off this time.
