Academic Dual Credit

Academic dual credit courses are core, field of study, or foreign language courses which apply to the Texas College Core or Field of Study in any State of Texas college or university. Most of these courses will transfer and be applied toward the student's intended major. In order to ensure transferability, speak with an academic adviser at the college or university which you plan to attend after high school. These courses include ENGL 1301, HIST 1301, MATH 1314, etc.
CTE or Technical Dual Credit

CTE (technical) courses may be taken for dual credit; however, most of these courses will only apply toward an Occupational Skills Award (OSA), a Level 1 Certificate, or an Associate of Applied Science degree. These courses apply toward a BAAS degree at universities offering those programs. If you have questions regarding the transferability of TJC courses, please reach out to an academic adviser.
